Bringing the Heart of Italy from the Streets of Calabria to the Heart of Essex.

 

Following an extensive refurbishment but retaining its original period features “47 The Street” is a now a stylish and contemporary family run venue and the ideal place to catch up with friends and family (children welcomed) or entertain business clients for lunch or dinner.

At 47 The Street, food is more than just a meal—it’s a way of life. Coming from a large family in Italy, Head Chef Liberato Impieri grew up helping his mother in the kitchen, learning the secrets of traditional Italian cooking from an early age. His passion for fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and the art of hospitality is at the heart of everything we do.

 

Originally a public house dating back to the 1800s, our restaurant was lovingly restored, blending historic charm with modern elegance. With over 23 years of serving our community, we’ve built a reputation for authentic, high-quality Italian cuisine made with the finest local and seasonal ingredients.

One of the specials was Veal Escalope and I asked if it was breaded - it wasn't, but that didn't matter because they were more than happy to do it that way for me if I wanted it. Couldn't have been more accomodating - very friendly staff - good sized portions and a varied wine list at reasonable prices.

  • We have long been fans of La Piazza (their sister restaurant) and have been to 47 now on a number of occasions - including my parents 80th birthday with a large family gathering. Food, service and ambience are always exemplary. They now have a bright and airy conservatory and smart garden to enjoy in the summer. Can't recommend enough.
