As a result of the complaints, the Advertising Standards Agency deemed the advert as \u201cirresponsible\u201d so it was taken down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stay away from \u201cgetting down with the kids\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>There is reaching out to the younger generation and there is making yourself and your brand look like fools &#8211; something you really want to avoid, especially with a generation so quick to criticize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Welch\u2019s, the American juice company attempted to target a pre-teen audience by using the phrase \u201cPour\u2019em a glass of LOL\u2019s!\u201d It didn\u2019t go down well with their audience &#8211; in fact, it became something to laugh at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Avoid unhealthy behaviour<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, it should be obvious that promoting drugs and alcohol to the younger generation would be a bad idea. However, cigarette brand, Malboro, didn\u2019t think so when creating their \u2018Don\u2019t be a maybe!\u2019 campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aimed at young teens, these adverts showed people in dangerous situations that parents believed \u201cpersuaded the young to smoke\u201d by the power of peer pressure.
