As an independent supported living provider, Calm Futures works closely with local commissioning teams and ICB’s to support vulnerable adults live in their own home.
We recognise the importance of providing person-led services to people with support needs and helping them to move progressively through their care pathway towards greater independence.
Calm Futures enables people to live fulfilling lives in whatever circumstances people choose. We support people to be as independent as possible to achieve what they want to with their lives. Our support packages meet individual needs and range from a few hours a week to 24/7 care and support.
Within supported living people live in their own homes in the community so that they can be enabled to be as independent as possible. Our focus is always about people receiving the right support from the right people who are properly trained to support them, so that they have opportunities of their choice within their home and community.
The people we support are involved in the recruitment of staff so that their experience of receiving support is taken into account in our values-based recruitment process. People are supported to take positive risks that enhance their lives and each care package supports the wellbeing of the individual. All areas of service delivery sit within a robust quality framework within the organisation.
We support people who have been in long stay hospitals. People who’ve caused property damage before often don’t get referred to independent living. We input into the housing design and alter it to create a robust environment to counteract any barriers, providing greater choice for people with complex behaviours and support needs.
We work with our commissioner colleagues, the housing provider, architect, contractor and occupational therapists to adapt the existing housing model and make services fit for purpose in line with the Transforming Care programme.
